Mr White is a long-standing presence in our clowder. A big, white cat with more than a few aches and pains, each one telling the story of a life full of experiences and long travels. None of us knows his exact age, but it’s clear that his youth is well behind him: Mr White is a veteran, an old soul with a slow but determined step.🐾💕
His reserved nature is one of his most distinctive traits. Fear — likely tied to the trauma of his sterilization — has left a deep mark on him: even today, he keeps a safe distance from humans, although over time, he’s learned that the clowder’s volunteers mean no harm. In fact, when he sees us arriving, he “approaches” in his own way — never closer than ten meters — and patiently waits for the food to be distributed and for the humans to leave, so he can eat in peace.
Mr White is an extremely peaceful cat. He never seeks conflict with other cats, always maintaining a discreet and sober profile. His patience is admirable, as is his ability to observe and experience the world with a quiet detachment, never imposing himself yet never truly disappearing.🐈🫶🏻
We’ve also discovered that he’s quite an explorer: it’s not unusual to spot him wandering among the gardens and scaffolding close to the nearby kindergarten, always with that calm and reflective air, as if saying, “I am part of this world, but I observe its edges carefully.”
For us, Mr White symbolizes silent resilience, dignity, and respect. We hope that one day he will find the courage to let himself be touched, to receive those cuddles that he still avoids but certainly deserves.
In the meantime, we watch him from a respectful distance, honoring his rhythms and his unique way of being part of our big feline family.🐾🐱💕
