Some stories need time before they can be told and Lillo’s tale is one of them.
For seven months, his place remained empty. Seven months during which our thoughts inevitably drifted to the worst, to that rainbow bridge no one likes to name🌈
Lillo is the brother of Mascioletta and Pelosone, and the son of Kiri. He was born in our friend Alessandro’s garden, among tall leaves and quiet corners and that’s where he grew up, with his slightly distant gaze, always gentle, always waiting for the right moment. Shy, but also special, Lillo has never looked for confrontation. If food is being served, he waits his turn. If tension rises, he steps aside. His strength has never been about dominance, but about softness.
Then one day, he disappeared. No sign. No trace. Knowing how reserved he was, we feared the world might have been too harsh for him. And when silence lasts for months, it weighs heavily. Until, against all expectations, Lillo reappeared. Just like that.
At first cautiously, then more steadily. Now, he is regularly visiting the clowder again and we can finally say it: Lillo is home!🐾
He has reclaimed his favorite spot: a tall tree from which he watches the surroundings. Sometimes we joke that he believes he’s a bird. Up there, he observes, reflects, feels safe.
He spends long hours with his mother Kiri, as if their bond had never been interrupted. And he has quietly bonded with Meggie, Frac, Artù and Mammona. With them, he shares space and peaceful moments.
We don’t know where he has been. We don’t know what he faced. What we do know is that he came back and that is enough. His return brought a mix of disbelief, relief and deep gratitude. After so many months, a reunion is never something to take for granted.
Lillo reminded us that trust is delicate and precious. He came back. We will do our best to honor that renewed trust.
Welcome home, quiet little observer.
Your tree was waiting for you🌳🤍
