Pelosone, the Softest of our Whiskered Friends

Pelosone is one of those cats who, even without meaning to, leave a deep mark on the heart of anyone lucky enough to cross their path. The son of Kiri and brother of Mascioletta and Lillo, he was born, together with another sibling, in the garden of our dear friend Alessandro, who followed the growth of that tiny group of fluffballs day after day. They were four curious, spirited little rascals, until life, with all its unpredictability, decided that only Pelosone and Mascioletta would grow into adulthood. Three survivors, bound by a deep connection that no hardship has ever managed to break🫶🏻🐾

Pelosone carries his beauty in his very name: a long, soft coat, one of those that could make anyone fall in love. He could have become the king of any home, for he has the noble, gentle look of a true house cat. But destiny traced out a different path for him. Despite his incredibly sweet nature, Pelosone is deeply fearful: he wants nothing to do with anyone he doesn’t know perfectly well, nor with other cats outside his tiny circle or rather, outside the company of the one true companion of his life: Mascioletta💖

Pelosone and Mascioletta have stayed together through everything, always. They sleep curled up together when it’s cold, wrapped around each other in a cocoon of fur that shields them from the frost, the rain, and every hardship that the life of a stray brings. It is a silent, tender kind of love, made of tiny steps in unison, calm glances, and an affection that needs no words. Pelosone has another small weakness: Alessandro. He’s officially part of the “spoiled team,” and he would never (truly never!) turn down an extra treat, even when he has already eaten at our place. With gentleness and a touch of cunning, he walks over to the garden of his human friend, hoping to earn a little delicacy. And honestly, we can’t bring ourselves to blame him: why should he give up a bit of culinary pampering? Life has taken so much from him, giving him a few small joys is the least we can do✨

And so Pelosone lives on, a cat with a kind heart and a fragile soul, who has found his balance in a world that is often harsh. Each day, he tries to carve out a little space beyond his fears, strengthened by his sister’s love and by the kindness of the people who care for him. And we will keep protecting him, respecting his pace, his nature, and his story, because some cats teach you that sweetness can be silent, but no less immense because of it🐈💕
